PWHT - heat treatment

Post-weld heat treatment improves the microstructure of the weld and reduces residual stresses that develop during welding. The laboratory specializes in performing PWHT for the steel and metal manufacturing industries, including applications in the construction of pressure vessels, pressure pipelines, storage tanks, buildings, bridges, offshore platforms, power plants, oil and gas refineries, and petrochemical plants.

LDAR - uncontrolled losses measurements

The primary source of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from oil refineries and chemical production facilities is leaking equipment such as valves, pumps, compressors, and flanged connections. VOCs pose risks to workers and contribute to ground-level ozone formation, a key component of smog. This secondary pollutant can exacerbate respiratory illnesses, particularly in children. Beyond the risks to on-site workers, surrounding communities may face long-term exposure to toxic air pollutants due to leaking equipment. Additionally, VOC leaks increase operational costs associated with product manufacturing or transportation.

EPA Method 21 and EN 15446 provide guidelines for detecting VOC leaks in process equipment using portable VOC detection devices. TICPROLAB, UAB can assist your company in developing and implementing an effective Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) program, ensuring compliance with national environmental regulations, EPA Method 21, and EN 15446 standards.
